Lodge & Learn
This is equivalent to a Board & Train program, where your dog will be lodged here and receive intensive daily training to achieve your training goals. This option is good for pet parents who want to continue their dog’s training while they are away on vacation or for pet parents who are finding it difficult to fit training into their daily routine. We understand that life gets busy! Ask about our Lodge & Learn program if you are interested in having your dog come to boarding school for some great manners.
If your dog is a daycare regular, why not give the gift of mental stimulation? Day School is a great option for pet parents who don’t have time during the week to train their dogs. This is also a great option for those who are wanting to reinforce their dog’s training in a distracting environment, but who don’t always have access to a safe, controlled environment such as the one we provide at Bed & Biscuits. Ask about the packages we offer for savings on a Day School package, and get a FREE day of daycare with purchase. These packages offer great options for our regular daycare clients!
Do you want to take an active part in working with your dog in a distracting environment? Inquire about our private sessions. Private sessions involve 30-minutes of individualized time between you, the trainer, and your dog. All lesson plans are tailored to what you want to learn and are customized to suit your individual dog. The methods employed are basic and advanced obedience. It is recommended that you set up a free consultation prior to setting up a private session so that we can spend time getting to know one another, and can spend time getting to know your dog and what motivates your dog best.
About Our Trainers
Meghan Jenkins and Kat Boone have a long history of training and working with dogs. Both Meghan and Kat studied alongside Animal Keepers at the Smithsonian National Zoo, where they cared and trained animals daily. Learning from these amazing trainers at the zoo we have been able to develop a successful positive based dog-training program with a unique perspective!
They believe that building a trusting relationship, helping the dog to gain self-confidence, and encouraging good choices through basic training and socialization is the key to resolving many common behavior problems.
Since 2001 Meghan has been learning as much as possible about her main passion – dogs! Starting out with a Veterinary Technician degree then she took a more natural approach, learning animal acupressure. Meghan has had the opportunity to help heal horses and dogs with herbs and acupressure massage. At Bed and Biscuits, she works closely with all types of dogs. Whether playing or giving haircuts she has learned that all dogs understand a common language.
Kat specializes in understanding the relationships between dog and human. Kat has been able to take her experience as a physical trainer and dance instructor to help her train humans on how to create better communication with their dogs.
